A large selection of Catholic Homeschooling speakers and topics are planned for this year.
Damon and his amazing wife Melanie homeschool their 7 children (6 girls & 1 boy).
Together they teach and promote Natural Family Planning. Damon is the founder of New
Jersey Natural Family Planning Association (www.njnfp.org) and Joy Filled Marriage New
Jersey, providing training resources and support for engaged and married couples. Damon
keeps a full speaking schedule at national conferences, marriage seminars, high schools,
seminaries, and parish groups. Most importantly for this conference he is passionate about
homeschooling! You can read more about Damon at http://damonowens.com
Rev Paul Sullivan
Fr. Paul Sullivan was born New York, the 7th of 8 children of Gerald and Ellen Sullivan.
After a short career in the financial world, he discerned a call to the priesthood. Fr.
Sullivan received a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Divinity degree from
Saint Meinrad Seminary before being ordained a priest for a life of service in our
diocese on June 2nd 2007.
Fr. Sullivan began his priestly ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Glendale
and has been working full time as a Director of Vocations for the Diocese since 2008.
Additionally, he has served as Director of Mount Claret Retreat Center (2009), Chaplain
of St. Mary’s High School (2008-2009), Part Time Chaplain at Arizona State University
(2010 – present) and Administrator Pro Tem Our Lady of Fatima Mission (July 2011-
March 2012). He also serves as Chaplain for Rachel’s Vineyard Post-Abortive Retreats
and Sacred Heart Home Educators.
Becky Bowers-Greene is a proud convert to the Catholic faith, who speaks on a variety of
topics, including pro-life, human sexuality, marriage and family, Natural Family Planning,
authentic feminism, and parenting. But while she is a former college gymnast for the
University of Arizona and former private pilot in training, Becky’s most daring adventure
yet has been her recent leap into the homeschooling world, where she is attempting to
educate her two sons without obtaining a lobotomy. She is also a freelance writer with
published works in the areas of religion, parenting, health and wellness, and aviation,
and started her own blog site called reclaimingthewomb.com. When she’s not writing or
speaking, she’s joyfully and loudly living out her true vocation as wife to husband Steve
and mother to three children — ages 1 1/2 to 6 years old — who are sure to be the catalyst
that leads Becky either to Heaven or a padded room — which she’ll take if she can at least
go to the bathroom in peace.
Michael J. Rayes is a Catholic marriage and family expert. He recently finished a master's
degree program in professional counseling and plans to become a licensed marriage and family
therapist. Rayes has worked in charter, district, private, and diocesan schools as a teacher,
behavioral counselor, and even a computer-network administrator. Rayes and his wife have seven
children and 17 years of homeschooling experience. A life-long Catholic, Rayes is the author
of numerous articles on Catholic marriage and parenting as well as two books. You can learn
more from his web site at www.michaelrayes.com.
Kelly is a wife, mother, and homeschooler. She has been married to high school
sweetheart and husband for 23 years. Her 7 great kids, age 4 to 19, keep her on her toes
and on her knees praying. She is a former child therapist with background in education, and
has been homeschooling for 14 years. She is the author of the Summer Fit educational activity
book series. Kelly finds herself meandering through life in a large homeschooling family,
relying on their love, and God's grace and guidance to see her through.
Kris Forbes spent many years praying for patience and to be more holy. She ended up with
one husband and eight children who are helping her achieve her goals (although as they would
tell you she needs lots more practice). Kris has homeschooled grades K-8 and will embark on
the high school journey with her eldest next year. She is president of the Sacred Heart Home
Educators, a local support group and enjoys being active in politics and the prolife movement.
The child of a neat freak and efficiency expert, Kris will share her wisdom on how to
homeschool and run a tidy household.
Mom of all trades. Former Juvenile Probation Officer with a Masters in Elementary
Education. Baptized at age 30 and passionately playing catch-up on my Catechism ever
since. Blessed wife to one awesome husband and blessed mom to a beautiful little
spitfire here on earth and a soul I long to meet one day in Heaven.
Beth Burton is a registered instructor with Andrew Pudewa's Institute for Excellence in Writing.
As a homeschool mom of three boys, Beth searched for a writing program that would encourage her
two writing-phobic boys to learn to write well and help challenge her third son who is naturally
gifted in language. Finding the answer, Beth was soon telling everyone she knew about IEW and
teaching other moms' children to write too. Beth and her family reside in Gilbert, AZ.

Our Lady of Victory School and Lepanto Press
Our experience as the oldest provider of Traditional Catholic curriculum and
flexibility in tailoring our program to the needs of your child, makes OLVS the
right choice for those who wish to provide a truly Roman Catholic education for
their children. Lepanto Press curriculum will inspire students to reach for the
higher good. Our solid success rate is evidenced by our graduates: some receiving
full scholarships to prestigious universities, serving in the military, and pursuing
religious and priestly vocations.
Stone Tablet Press - Little Angel Readers
Thousands of Catholic parents and educators are using the Little Angel Readers® to
teach their children and students to read. The Little Angel Readers are a series of
phonetic readers and coordinated workbooks for teaching beginning reading using phonics.
The Little Angel Readers use the highly effective methods of phonetic word drill,
reading phonetic stories, and written exercises to teach each letter-sound relationship.
Catholic stories in the readers support the child's faith and help to build character
while developing comprehension. Children enjoy the child-appealing stories and colorful
illustrations. Teachers and parents like the easy-to-use lesson plans and successful
teaching strategies. The Little Angel Readers are recommended for 1st and 2nd grade, but
may be used with children in late Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
Teaching Textbooks™ were designed specifically for independent learners. They simply
have more teaching/explanation than any other product on the market. We realized that
independent learners needed a product that contains the maximum amount of teaching, so
a Teaching Textbook™, with its approximately 700 pages of text and 120-160 hours of
teacher instruction on CD-ROM, is both a teacher and a textbook combined into one.
And the CD-ROM teaching isn't just abstract lectures either. There are also down-to-earth,
audiovisual step-by-step explanations for every single one of the almost 3,500 problems
in the book. Using a Teaching Textbook™ is like having a friendly tutor available at the
push of a button, but for only a fraction of the cost! Other products claim that they can
be used without the assistance of a teacher, and this may or may not be true. But
shouldn't a truly ideal product for independent learners contain step-by-step teacher
explanations for all those times when you might get stumped? We think so.
Classical Catholic Memory Materials
Classically Catholic Memory is a memory work program for families who are interested
both in the classical model of education and in growing in their Catholic faith. Intended
for children ages 5 to 12, it is a four-year program, with each “year” consisting of 18
weeks of memory work in eight subjects. It includes activities and teaching techniques
for all subjects.
History Links are unit studies for Catholic homeschoolers. Each unit integrates Roman Catholic
doctrine and tradition with the study of World History to help your children understand the
past, make virtuous choices in the present, and look forward to the future. Each History
Link is packed with thought-provoking questions, hands-on projects, and interesting research
and report ideas that will have your children begging for more.
Rafka Press LLC is an Arizona limited liability company, founded in 2006. We publish books for
Catholics of all ages. We specialize in fiction, educational, and documentary works. Rafka Press
only publishes new or reprinted works that are completely faithful to the traditional teachings
of the Catholic Church. The Spencer Family Mystery series is our first set of books.

Come and discover award-winning Excellence in Writing, a method of teaching composition that really works.

This workshop will give you an overview of the program and show you how you can get started.
Midwest Theological Forum
Midwest Theological Forum (MTF) is a not-for-profit corporation that publishes materials and organizes
courses for Catholic bishops, priests and laity. Among MTF's most popular books are the best-selling
Didache textbooks by Dr. Scott Hahn.
Arizona Science Center

enrich your homeschooling experience. In addition to their galleries, planetarium, theater, and interactive
online exhibits they also offer classes specifically for homeschoolers.
Working hard to preserve and advance the fundamental, God-given, constitutional right of parents and others
legally responsible for their children to direct their education. Since 1983, Home School Legal Defense
Association's primary goal has remained the same—to bring together a large number of homeschooling families
so that each can have a low-cost method of obtaining quality legal defense. HSLDA gives families the freedom
to homeschool without facing legal threats alone. Through many families sticking together, we have been able
to keep the cost of a year's membership close to the rate that you would have to pay for an hour of an attorney's
time almost anywhere else.
Summer Fit Learning
Summer Fit workbooks and online resources are part of an ongoing initiative to keep children mentally and
physically active while away from school using a unique active and values based approach to summer learning.
